Short introduction

Michiel Westerman received his medical degree in 2008 (with honour) after which he did his PhD within medical education on the transition from specialty training to starting has a new hospital consultant. This thesis constitutes several research projects aimed to investigate whether new consultants are prepared for their new role.  Currently Michiel  is a resident within Internal Medicine.
Research interests:

Transitions within medical education, Professional identity development, Generic competencies, postgraduate medical education.
