Short introduction

Anouk Wouters studied clinical psychology at Utrecht University. After working in mental health care for several years she decided to switch to scientific research. In 2012 she started her PhD in the team Research in education of VUmc School of Medical Sciences.

Research interests

Her PhD project focuses on the selection of students for medical school and motivation. She does research on the effects of selection on both the applicant pool and student population and the role of motivation. The project is funded by The Netherlands Federation of University Medical Centers (Nederlandse Federatie van Universitair Medische Centra) (NFU) and conducted in close cooperation with University Medical Centre Groningen. She is the daily organizer of the longitudinal SMS study.
