Prof. dr. Christina Vandenbroucke-Grauls
Chirstina Vandenbroucke-Grauls is professor in Molecular and Medical Microbiology at the VU University Medical Center. She graduated magna cum laude in Medicine from KU Leuven and was consultant in Medical Microbiology and Infection Control from 1980 until 1995 at Utrecht University and UMC Utrecht. In 1995, Christina was appointed as professor and head of department at VU Medical Center.
, she has been chairman of the
Workingparty on Infection Prevention (WIP), chairman of the
the Dutch Journal of Medicine (Nederlands Tijdschrift voor Geneeskunde, NTvG) and Expert within the European Commission.
Her main scientific interest and expertise lies with infection prevention, antimicrobial resistance, and pneumococcal infections.
Christina is emeritus professor since november 2017, after 23 years as professor and head of the department at VUMC. Currently, she still supervises five PhD students.
