The VU University Medical Center consists of a number of buildings that are all connected. The two main buildings are the 'Kliniek', the Clinic Building for in-patients and the 'Polikliniekgebouw', the Out-patients Building.
The Clinic Building houses the 'Verpleeghuis' (Nursing Building) and the 'Behandelhuis' (Treatment Building). You will be admitted to a ward in the 'Verpleeghuis'. The 'Verpleeghuis' contains all wards. It has an B, C and D wing.
Wards are labelled by the number of the floor, followed by the wing and roomnumber. For examinations and treatment you go to the 'Behandelhuis'. On some floors of the 'Behandelhuis' there are operating theatres. Some examinations and treatment may take place in the 'Polikliniekgebouw' which you will find opposite the main entrance of the 'Kliniek'. The two buildings are connected by a footbridge over the De Boelelaan
