Molecular imaging of colorectal cancer
Meike de Wit is a biologist with a specialisation in Oncology. After obtaining her bachelor degree in Biology at the University of Utrecht in 2003 she followed a master course specialized in Oncology at the Faculty of Medicine of the VU University of Amsterdam which was completed in 2006. Currently she is working on her PhD project titled "Molecular imaging of colorectal cancer". The aim of this project is the identification and validation of biomarkers that can distinguish low-risk colon adenomas from high-risk colon adenomas and CRC and that could be applied for molecular imaging. In this project a combination of state-of-the-art proteomics and genomics techniques is used to identify cell surface proteins that could serve as molecular imaging biomarkers.
